The PositionWe are seeking a senior technology analyst to work within the Compliance Planning team to assist with the support and implementation of innovative technology and business systems that improve field management of the Marine Parks and Island National Parks for the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area. You will have skills in understanding and applying innovative technology solutions broadly. You will have experience in integrating technology solutions with business systems, data management and data visualisation.You will have a focus on innovation and technologies that improve compliance management, for example vessel tracking systems, drones, artificial intelligence, satellite imagery, remotely operated cameras and field reporting systems. However, you will work across other field management activities such as incident response and reef and island conservation actions. You will be able to consider how technology can achieve improvements in safety for staff in the field and augment staff capabilities to deliver efficiency gains.To achieve this, you will need to work closely with colleagues in the Reef Authority and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and external collaborators and providers to deliver technology and business system improvements. You will further need to work with a cross section of Reef Joint Field Management Program staff to support the uptake and continued operability of technologies and business systems used by the Program.DutiesSupport the identification, investigation, trialling, development, testing and operationalisation of innovative technology solutions that substantially improve delivery of the Reef Joint Field Management Program, with a particular focus on legislative compliance.Prepare reports, analysis, costings and recommendations on technology solutions.Support the implementation of new technology through appropriate change management, training and support.Support the ongoing operability of technologies used by the Program including data management and visualisation tools.Consult within the Reef Authority and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service to support implementation procurement, ownership and licensing requirements for technology solutions.Support professional linkages with other relevant Commonwealth and Queensland government agencies, research institutions, the private sector, and reef industries to ensure a contemporary understanding of needs and the application of technology solutions that substantially improve delivery of the Reef Joint Field Management Program.Eligibility requirements & qualificationsApplicants must:be an Australian citizen at time of applying for position,be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance, failure to do so will result in termination of employment.Essential skills and experienceUnderstanding of, or an ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of, current and emerging technologies relevant to environmental management/regulatory compliance space.Experience with Agile ways of working and applicable tools (Azure DevOps).Experience with data querying (SQL) and tools such as Databricks or PowerBI.Desirable skills and experienceApplicable skills to the role are included below using the SFIA (Skills Framework for the Information Age) skills and competency framework for the digital world.Even if you do not meet all of the essential and desirable skills and experience, we encourage you to still apply, training will be available for the most suitable candidate.How to apply for the positionYou will be required to prepare a response document ("pitch") which does not exceed two pages, in relation to the advertised role, outlining:how your experience, abilities, knowledge and personal qualities would enable you to perform the duties and meet the technical and behavioural capabilities of the role.any specific examples or achievements that demonstrate your ability to perform the role.how you meet the eligibility requirements and qualifications for the position.Applicants are advised to read further information provided on the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority Careers website.To apply for this position, please see the vacancy listing on The Reef Authority's Career Portal.
