The Legal Services and Property Branch is a small, dynamic team providing legal and property advice, conducting investigations, and ensuring the integrity of Commonwealth electoral systems and processes.

Your new role
As a Paralegal within the Regulatory Law team, you will play a crucial role in supporting legal investigations and ensuring compliance with the authorisation requirements under the relevant acts.
Your responsibilities will include conducting legal research, assisting with high-profile litigation, and supporting a diverse range of electoral regulation activities.
You will also manage administrative tasks, such as mailbox management and database maintenance, to support the legal team effectively.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience working in a legal or paralegal role, with a focus on regulatory or compliance work.
Strong research skills and the ability to analyse complex legal issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Experience with database management and legal document preparation.
Understanding of contemporary compliance processes and practices.
Confidence in making sound judgements based on thorough research and evidence-based practice.
