Under expert supervision you will learn the necessary skills to service, maintain and repair light vehicles whilst working in a small team environment.
If you already have a real interest in cars, have a Certificate II pre-vocational certificate in the industry, or need to complete an automotive apprenticeship that you previously started, this opportunity is for you.
What would this involve?
You would be employed by Work & Training for the duration of your apprenticeship, & hosted to our valued client in Launceston.
Full time hours over the four years of your apprenticeship.
Full entitlements including four weeks of holidays per year.
Theory training conducted by TasTAFE – 6 x one week blocks per year.
You would receive mentoring and support throughout the apprenticeship.
You would learn the necessary skills to service, maintain and light vehicles, whilst working in a team environment.
As an apprentice you will also be responsible for workshop cleaning and assisting other members of the team with servicing and problem solving.

At the end of the apprenticeship you will be fully qualified in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology.
Essential Criteria: Drivers Licence.
Knowledge of Work Health & Safety requirements.
Ability to work with oils, grease, petrol & diesel.
A genuine interest in working on cars with prior experience highly regarded.
Desirable Criteria: Certificate II in Automotive or similar VET course qualification.
