South Central Truck and Bus is the sole South Australian distributor for the range of MACK Trucks, UD Trucks and Volvo Truck & Bus range of products. We sell new and used trucks and buses and provide service and parts to our customers.
The Role We are seeking a number of motivated and reliable people to undertake a four-year apprenticeship. In addition to your standard trade school training at TAFE, product specific training will also be provided in-house. Starting with basic service and repair type work, you would progress through your trade and at the end of four years you will be capable of rebuilding the latest engines & automated transmissions and have a solid understanding of things like auto electrics, brake, fuel, and vehicle electronic management systems.
Skills / Experience Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate a positive enthusiastic attitude and have a sound interest in mechanics or the like.If you are doing/have completed a Cert 2 in Automotive, this will be well regarded. Work experience in an automotive or trade related industry will also be well regarded.If you have had part-time paid work or have been actively engaged with the wider community (sport, clubs, volunteering etc.) whilst studying, that would be an advantage.The job can be physically demanding, so you must be able to pass a pre-employment medical, which includes a drug screening test.
