Application Security Engineer

Join us in a fast-paced, innovative environment where your contributions will directly impact the security and success of Web Travel Group.In this role you will:As an Application Security Engineer, you will champion our security initiatives by identifying and mitigating risks across our applications and cloud environments.
You will collaborate with development teams to investigate security alerts, perform risk assessments, and implement controls to reduce exposure to threats.
Your role will also involve supporting our vulnerability management program, ensuring compliance with internal and industry standards, and providing expert guidance to stakeholders on security best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand our internal threat landscape and work with relevant teams to mitigate risks.Collaborate with development and platform engineering teams to integrate security into DevOps processes.Champion our vulnerability management program by identifying key weaknesses and tuning controls.Investigate security alerts raised by monitoring systems and track issues through to remediation.Perform risk assessments for new technical projects and enhancements to identify key risks and appropriate mitigations.Work closely with stakeholders to identify security risks in their environments and provide advice on implementing effective controls.Support the audit function to ensure compliance with internal and industry security standards.The skills we would love to see in your suitcase.Demonstrated commercial experience in a cybersecurity role.Hands-on experience with web development and software engineering using languages such as C#, GoLang, Python, or others.Experience with hardening and securing Linux operating systems.Proficiency in technical security and penetration testing for web applications.Knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and relevant controls.Experience with cloud technologies in Azure or AWS.Strong understanding of security-related architecture, code reviews, and security assurance activities.Experience working in a DevOps or DevSecOps environment.Familiarity with security tools and frameworks for vulnerability scanning and threat detection.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Working at WebBedsWebBeds is a fast-paced, results-driven business and that is reflected throughout our company, in our technology, product and perhaps most importantly – in our people.
