The New Markets function is focused on developing business opportunities within new sectors, notably Banking, Asset Management and Green Tech.
Our aim is to help these industries to better understand, measure and manage the current and future physical climate risk exposure within their portfolios.
You will report to the Manager, Climate Analytics.
Your Role : Provide existing insurance and climate analytics solutions to internal and external stakeholders Help develop new data and analytics solutions, exploring ways to offer greater value and grow the business Support and enhance analytics solutions for the Non-Life reinsurance business Interpret and present analysis that make complex data accessible and relevant to stakeholders of all technical skill levels Develop and maintain robust analytics pipelines Implement and maintain best practices on code quality, CI / CD and documentation Build relationships with a variety of teams including IT and other analytics units globally, and be a contributor to the wider Munich Re analytics community Attend relevant meetings with colleagues in other time zones including Europe Your Profile : Tertiary level education in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science or a relevant financial or quantitative discipline 2 years+ of commercial experience in an analytical role Experience working with Big Data on cloud-based platforms (e.g. Databricks) Experience with data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI) Proficiency in Python or other coding languages with practical experience in CI / CD Experience in developing ETL pipelines in cloud environments Strong ability to present, interpret and discuss conclusions, inferences or results of analytical projects to different audiences At Munich Re, we embrace and value the interaction of diverse backgrounds, experience, perspectives and thought.
