**About the role**:
The Analyst - Strategy & Planning role is varied in every sense of the word, working on strategic analysis and progression of a range of internal and external business opportunities, including acquisitions, capital projects and the associated funding of those opportunities. This role would also have responsibility for maintaining the Alinta corporate model and five-year business plan.

You will be in the unique situation of working across Strategy & Planning and the Treasury team responsible for providing analytic, project management, commercial and transactional support to a range of stakeholders.

This is a permanent full-time role reporting into the Manager - Strategy & Planning.

**Duties**:

- Help to assess potential investment opportunities for Alinta and weighing these up against alternative uses for capital
- Undertake wide ranging analysis on Alinta's current suite of assets, including detailed scenario analysis using a range of different modelling assumptions
- Assist with preparation of Board presentations
- Provide analytic support to the Wholesale, Retail, Power Generation and Finance teams when required
- Managing cross functional project working groups in order to drive positive outcomes for the overall business

**Skills and experience**:

- Strongly numerate with a capacity to build sophisticated financial models, including DCF analysis
- A high degree of initiative, creativity, energy, and enthusiasm, as well as excellent time-management and organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently on numerous projects with tight deadlines simultaneously
- Ability to swiftly comprehend complex matters (particularly financial) and to effectively communicate their key points them in a concise and straight-forward manner
- Proven track record in achieving results and ability to prioritise work in accordance with business needs
