The Criminal Proceeds Squad undertakes two streams of investigations, money laundering investigations related to serious and profit motivated organised crime, and unexplained wealth along with asset confiscation investigations operating under the Asset Confiscation Scheme with partners, the Office of Public Prosecutions and Asset Confiscation Operations.As an Analyst part of the Analytical Support Team you will undertake a variety of operational and tactical intelligence tasks to support high-level money laundering and asset confiscation investigations, develop intelligence leads and targets, and identifying opportunities under asset confiscation provisions to impact serious and organised crime. The team consists of three VPS-3 Analysts which report to a VPS-4 Senior Analyst.Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.Your duties will include:Providing tactical and operational analytical support to CPS investigations.Undertaking the collection, evaluation, collation, analysis, and controlled dissemination of information.Developing good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Cultivating and maintain a detailed knowledge of money laundering and asset identification methodologies.Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of developments and initiatives relevant to intelligence analysis and intelligence systems and provide input to the development and maintenance of these systems.Preparation of statistical information for the Asset Confiscation Scheme and for Victoria Police.Effectively managing, maintaining, preparing, and delivering intelligence information by utilising a variety of computer systems and applications.About You:The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills as well as strong written and oral communication skills.Ability to plan and organise work and produce high quality results.Experience in research or analysis and preferably knowledge of, or experience in, intelligence analysis, criminology, criminal justice, or other relevant academic disciplines.Further knowledge or interest in financial crime environment would be highly desirable.A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics and Conduct, Financial Code of Practice, and Organisational Values.Further Information:This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head.
