Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME - Mechanical) Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME's) are responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the fleet.
This position involves troubleshooting, conducting routine and non-routine maintenance, and performing repairs on various aircraft systems and components in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
The AME ensures that all maintenance activities comply with safety and airworthiness standards, with a focus on preventing mechanical failure and minimizing operational downtime.
Responsibilities Perform all duties in a safe and effective manner with due diligence to the requirements of Company procedures (SMS and CPPM) and health and safety legislation;Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the organization's procedures, and report any anomalies;Carry out tasks as directed whilst ensuring that the highest standards of workmanship are maintained;Maintain awareness of all the latest amendments to Company procedures/manuals and other technical data;Use current and applicable ICA to carry out work, verify documents where reasonable doubt exists;Accurately record any work carried out;Promptly report any defective Company equipment or tooling;Participate in the Safety Management System (AIRS) reporting of all accidents, incidents, hazards, and near misses;Advise Senior Engineer when requirements specified in the Exposition require amendment and assist with the preparation of those amendments;Liaise with DAMP Supervisor(s) following an accident or incident;Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the work area;Utilize knowledge, skills, and ability to fulfill day-to-day tasks;Perform any other duties as instructed appropriate to the job's function and the incumbent's skills. Working Conditions AME's are employed on a rotating roster basis:
7 days on 7 days off – 11-hour day Travel may be required, especially in AOG situations.
Aircraft Maintenance will require work in hangars, on the ramp, or in other outdoor environments.
Qualifications Relevant Trade certificate.Demonstrated time management skills.High level of communication skills – written and verbal.Demonstrated problem-solving ability.Ability to work within a team environment.Computer skills – Airworthiness Data – CASA; Company network.Must have the ability to obtain and hold an ASIC.Must have the ability to obtain and hold an Airside Drivers Licence.Hold current Passport.Human Factors Training.An understanding of the Civil Aviation Safety Regulations applicable to Certificate of Approvals. Experience At least 5 years' experience in aircraft maintenance.Experience on Embraer aircraft is desirable.Experience at Perth Airport is desirable. Personal Attributes Good communication and interpersonal skills.High attention to detail.Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
