Darwin Private Hospital is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. As part of the Healthscope Group of Hospitals, it is a licenced 122 bed hospital providing a broad range of multiday and day surgery including, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology and ENT and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. Our world-class private hospital attracts patients from across the greater Northern Territory, Western Australia, remote aboriginal communities and even offshore. We are co-located with Royal Darwin Hospital and partner in delivering specialised care to patients from across the top end of Australia. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated person who is skilled at working in a fast-paced environment and enhances the productivity of the Executive team through the efficient, effective management and coordination of secretariat tasks and by supporting the team to reach targets and deliver on the organisations aims and objectives. Are you a highly motivated Registered Nurse ready to undertake this key leadership role? The After Hours Hospital Coordinator is a pivotal member of the health care team providing after hours leadership and management of the nursing team and hospital. As the After Hours Hospital Coordinator your responsibilities will include: Supervise safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards. Support and liaise with the respective Nurse Unit Manager(s) of wards and departments. Ensure all areas are staffed appropriately and cost efficient. Coordinate patient admissions. Oversee the safety of all patients and hospital staff. Minimum Requirements: Registered Nurse with current AHPRA Registration. Recent management experience at ANUM level or higher. Tertiary Qualification in a health related discipline or management (desired). Knowledge of relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements (desired). Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff. High degree of computer literacy including MS Office. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. People leadership skills including mentorship and coaching of team members. Ability to manage special projects and selected portfolios.
