Role Overview As an Aerospace Engineering Manager at an early-stage technology company, you will lead a diverse team playing a crucial role in bridging the gap across teams and working between the office environment and the manufacturing shop floor. This multidisciplinary position requires a dynamic individual who thrives in challenging environments and can lead the implementation of innovative manufacturing processes.
You will be responsible for the design, development, and evaluation of an advanced uncrewed aircraft prototype and its manufacturing processes. This role demands a leader who can drive improvements, develop manufacturing tooling, and test equipment. You will collaborate closely with partners to ensure the effective integration of technology into final prototype designs, leveraging your expertise in systems engineering, assembly, automation, quality, and cost analysis.
Responsibilities Lead the implementation of software communication protocols such as CAN, UART, I2C, and SPI. Lead the integration of software with various hardware, working with systems like the Jetson family of embedded systems. Lead the prototype data collection and flight testing across the development activities. Provide technical leadership in a fast-paced team environment, accelerating efforts to build an analytics-driven product pipeline. Manage multiple projects concurrently at various stages of development. Required Experience and Skills Proven experience in the development, integration, and deployment of aerospace technology. Strong background in electro-mechanical assemblies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Well-developed interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Desired Experience Experience in Research & Development & Innovation. Familiarity with quality systems for non-conforming parts and corrective actions. General working knowledge of complex aerospace manufacturing processes. Ability to obtain AGSVA Security Clearance – Baseline (or existing clearance). This role is ideal for a motivated individual who enjoys taking on leadership responsibilities and navigating the challenges of early-stage technology development.
