About the role The Advanced Plant Operator will support civil construction crews in a variety of tasks, including excavation, backfilling, cable installations (including underground fibre optic cables), recoveries, and reinstatement work.
This is a field-based role, and standard working hours are 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
In this role, you will work closely with colleagues across different disciplines, gaining exposure to a wide range of activities and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities include Excavate trenches according to specifications and install pipe as per plansShovelling materials such as asphalt and dirt to and from construction areasLoad and unload construction materials and supplies from trucksMaintain a clean and safe work environment, including machinery and work sitesOperate a variety of hand and power tools and assist with underground service spottingRead and interpret plans and take direction from the Crew LeaderAbout You The successful applicant will have experience working in a similar role within the construction industry, while actively participating in identifying site hazards and implementing control measures.
Proven experience operating excavators, with a strong knowledge of trenching techniques and the ability to dig around underground servicesAbility to implement environmental controls and read and interpret DBYD plansA valid HR Driver's Licence and tickets for Excavators and Skid Steer are requiredFirst Aid, Dogging, and Confined Space tickets are highly desirableOur people are our energy source and we offer meaningful benefits and rewards that work for you.
