Key responsibilities The Administrative Review Officer is responsible for assisting the Internal Integrity Unit in effectively implementing the NDIS Commission's legislative obligations and functions in the following areas: Privacy Assist with privacy breaches and complaints, and privacy impact assessments for specific NDIS Commission projects.
Action the privacy reforms framework and collaborate with stakeholders to integrate changes across the NDIS Commission.
Assist with the continuous improvement of data handling practices, privacy policies and procedures.
Contribute to privacy training programs to educate employees on data protection and obligations.
Internal Review Draft administrative decisions and coordinate responses for complex matters.
Gather information and liaise with stakeholders to ensure timeframes are met.
Respond to questions about internal review application and submissions reporting.
Collaborate with other NDIS Commission staff on reviews matters and assist with reporting.
Freedom of Information (FOI) Assist with the assessment and progression of FOI requests.
Communicate with FOI applicants, third parties and other agencies to ensure that FOI matter is pro.
Collaborate with NDIS Commission teams to identify relevant documents and brief decision-makers on access.
Draft FOI decisions and assist with requests from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Eligibility The role would suit critical and creative thinkers with excellent attention to detail, and a passion for effective client service, process improvement and delivering positive outcomes in an integrity context.
To be successful in the role, you must have excellent organisational skills, work well in a fast-paced environment and enjoy juggling multiple competing priorities.
Minimum Mandatory Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates must have at least 12 months experience in one or more of the following: Working with the Privacy Act 1988 and best practices in privacy and risk management; and/or Handling internal review requests, administrative decision-making, or similar at a Federal or State level; and/or Handling FOI requests or similar at a Federal or State level, including practical experience in effectively applying FOI legislation.
In addition, candidates must demonstrate: Excellent interpersonal skills to positively engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels; Ability to quickly learn and acquire skills and knowledge in an unfamiliar area of work or subject matter; and Work experience or familiarity with government operations and procedures.
