About Language Services The Language Services Office is equipped with 16 telephone lines across the Repat and Austin Campuses and is open Mon – Fri 8:30am – 4:30pm. For patients with limited English proficiency or who use sign language, interpreters play an essential role in ensuring access to services and meaningful participation in the care they receive at Austin Health.
About the role The casual Admin Officer position sits within the Language Services Department which reports to the Manager of Language Services. The Language Services Department has offices at both the Austin and Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital campuses. You will work collaboratively with other staff members within the department as well as liaise with health professionals and stakeholders internally and externally to Austin Health.
A regular day will see you: Handle consumers and stakeholders' queries in person, over the phone, or via email.Maintain accurate statistics of bookings undertaken on the Interpreter Management System (IMS) in a timely manner – training will be provided.Assist with the booking, rescheduling, and confirmation of appointments.Ensure a sufficient amount of consumables are available in an office environment.About you As the casual Admin Officer, you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You will bring energy and drive to your work and have a keen interest in developing your skill set.
