Resources are currently looking for a highly experienced and disciplined accountant to join our team in Caloundra, QLD. If you're a proactive, flexible and experienced professional with a drive to succeed, you're the type of person we would like to welcome onboard.Your roleIn this role, your key responsibilities will include:Assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policiesPrepare financial statements for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing/statutory bodiesConduct financial investigations, prepare reports, and undertake auditsAdvise on matters such as business purchases, mergers, capital financing, suspected fraud, insolvency, and taxationExamine operating costs and organisational income and expenditureProvide assurance on the accuracy of financial reports and compliance with statutory requirementsOffer financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans, and operationsPrepare taxation returns for individuals and organisationsLiaise with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangementsIntroduce and maintain accounting systems and advise on computer-based accounting systemsMaintain internal control systemsAppraise cash flow and assess financial risk for capital investment projects (optional responsibility)The essential requirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Proven experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of financial reporting, auditing, and insolvency.Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex financial information to clients.Proficiency in accounting software and information systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;A proactive, can-do and positive attitude;Attention to detail and accurate work practices;Ability and willingness to adhere to deadlines and work schedules, and;Passion for safety and working as part of a team.Additional qualificationsWe are specifically looking for candidates capable of committing to flexible working arrangements; further, please ensure that you are available to work in Caloundra, QLD before applying.What's in it for you?At Sigma, we place our people at the heart of everything we do.
