AACHWA delivers professional development programs for managers, boards, and artists; provides recruitment advice and services; and acts as an advocate to, and central point of contact for, Regional, State and Federal funding bodies.About the RoleAACHWA is seeking applications for a Specialist Non-Member Director for the Board. The ideal candidate will be a qualified and experienced Accountant with skills in financial management and a willingness to take on the role of Treasurer of the Board. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Board of an organisation with a proven track record for good governance and operations.Key functions of the role will include:Act as the Treasurer of AACHWA.Chair the Finance Sub-Committee of the AACHWA Board.Provide leadership, direction and support to the AACHWA Board.Work with the Member Directors of the AACHWA Board to develop and review the strategic plan and policies and procedures when required.Review the management of the Corporation's finances.Promote and uphold principles of good governance.Attend all board meetings and Finance Sub-Committee meetings.Demonstrate financial acumen to assist the Board in budgeting, strategic financial planning, reviewing investments and making financial decisions.Promote effective and efficient lines of communication.Represent AACHWA at industry events.Undertake appropriate cross-cultural training as required.Who are we looking for?Financial literacy and leadership experience.Experience with Directorships and Boards.Commitment to uphold all legal duties, responsibilities and obligations of a Director.An absence of conflicting commitments.Of high repute and recognized integrity.Able to provide an acceptable National Police Certificate to the Board of Directors.Experience Required for Position:Experience as a director of an Australian company governed by the Corporations Act.At least 10 years of experience as a Certified Practicing or Chartered Accountant.Demonstrated leadership experience and a proven record of accomplishments.Reputation and integrity, including no disqualifications under the Corporations Act.Endorsement by the Member Directors of the Board of AACHWA.Commitment:The Specialist Non-Member Director will be appointed for a period of no more than 12 months with the possibility of re-appointment at the next Annual General Meeting. The expected commitment is approximately once per quarter each year. Meetings will typically be held in Perth and regional locations where AACHWA's membership is based. The AACHWA Board is a volunteer commitment; no fees for meeting attendance are paid.
