For years, market research has been slow, expensive, and out of reach for many. Only the biggest food companies with large budgets could afford to get insights on shopper habits. We're changing that. Our data isn't just about who's buying what—it's about the real motivations behind those choices, from grocery planning to product usage. This is a game-changer for marketers in the food industry, empowering them to make smarter, faster decisions that directly drive growth.
We're disrupting the market by bringing these insights to life through our shoppable recipe platform, already loved by over 60,000 households in New Zealand and Australia. Think of it as the ultimate meal-planning tool, where consumers find their perfect recipes and brands get invaluable data on consumer choices.

We're currently a growing, passionate team of 20 based in Christchurch, NZ. Our NZ-based founders are relocating to Sydney for 6-12 months to invest deeply into building our team here, and this role will be one of our founding team and first hires in Australia.

If you're a people-oriented person passionate about the fast-paced world of B2B tech startups, this is the role for you. We're looking to add two awesome Account Executives to join the team as our first sales hires in Australia, joining our team of two in New Zealand.
Purpose of your role & key tasks You will be responsible for actively managing the prospecting pipeline, unveiling new opportunities and providing warm leads for our founder and CEO, and closing deals yourself.
Responsibilities include: You will be the face of Appetise to our future customers, so representing our brand and values will always be at the forefront of your role.Manage the front end of the sales pipeline with a focus on growing the outbound revenue channel for Appetise.Identify new leads and business opportunities through market research, event attendance, and competitor analysis.Lead outreach campaigns from design to action, tracking and iterating to engage with new prospects.Perform scheduled outreach to potential prospects through calls, emails, LinkedIn, etc.Close deals and work with our customer success team to ensure a smooth handover.Maintain clear and accurate records for customer interaction via the Appetise systems, lead generation, and pipeline stage progression.Work with the wider go-to-market team to identify areas of opportunity or improvement.Your qualities and attributes Now you know the role, who are you?
Experience in a similar sales role (Account Executive, BDM, SDR, etc.) - preferably in SaaS, MarTech, or FMCG Sales.A love for the sales thrill, and the resilience to ride the wave that is part of the world of sales.Fantastic written and verbal communication skills with the ability to confidently speak with new prospects.A proactive approach to actively seek feedback and continuously be trying to improve.The ability to collaborate and work across the various functions within the wider Appetise team.Nice to have: Experience utilising CRM tools is advantageous (e.g., HubSpot, SalesForce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, LeadiQ, etc.).A proven track record of nailing targets.The ability to deal with the uncertainties and dynamics of a start-up, which gives you a lot of freedom and the opportunity to contribute your own ideas.At Appetise, our culture drives our success. Our Australian hub is based in Surry Hills, Sydney. We embrace future flexibility and offer location and time adaptability. WFH is optional on Wednesdays and Fridays. Work at your peak efficiency. As long as the work is done, we are happy.
We've built a really strong team culture in New Zealand. We place huge importance on working as a team and being passionate about what we do. With our two founders based in Sydney now, we're looking forward to working alongside our founding Australian team (including this role!) to translate that culture into a new market.
We're open to discussing our salary range for this role, which is $100,000 - $120,000, with an OTE of up to $200,000. In addition, you'll be eligible to participate in our employee stock ownership plan because we believe in rewarding our team and giving everyone a real stake in our shared success.
