Total Effective Package: $105,546 - $121,475 (p.a.)*

The Aboriginal Family Support Worker (AFSW) – Lead position will provide a liaison and support service to children and their families attending the Child and Youth Assessment & Therapeutic Team. The position is responsible for cultural brokerage, liaison, advocacy, and support for clients ensuring the responsibility of coordination and facilitation of child and families appointments and follow-ups. Additionally, the AFSW – Lead provides strategic leadership, mentoring, and training to the AFSW staff within the team.
To be considered for this position, you will require:
Identifies as an Aboriginal person; recognised and accepted as an Aboriginal person by the Aboriginal community Excellent communication skills including fluency in one or more local Aboriginal languages, and the ability to communicate sensitively in a cross-cultural environment Demonstrated leadership qualities or experiences that ensure strong leadership, mentoring, and training of Aboriginal colleagues.
