Fixed Term Temporary full-time, up to 24/01/2025 with possibility of extension not exceeding 12 months.
The role will work to improve the uptake of secondary bicillin (antibiotic treatment), early detection and treatment of sore throats and skin sores, facilitate health promotion, community education and support care co-ordination between primary and secondary care providers.
This role is designated as Indigenous Identified.
Under s.25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.

Salary range of $2878.20 to $3958.00 p.f.

The Ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:
Demonstrated understanding of the social and cultural determinants of health affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and strategies to address these issues.
Demonstrated ability to deliver primary health care programs in response to the health needs of individuals, groups and communities.
Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skills obtained from Diploma in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
Advanced level clinical skills appropriate for the delivery of health assessments, community screening and primary health care intervention.
Requirements:
Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health.
Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
Proof of qualification and registration or membership (if applicable) with the appropriate registration authority or association.
This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle.
Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.
Blue Card Checks: Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a 'working with children check' from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
