This AO3 Housing Officer role is perfect for someone with a strong customer focus and proven administrative skills, looking to contribute to person-centred social housing services.
Key Responsibilities
As a Housing Officer, you will:
Deliver high-quality, person-centred social housing services to a diverse client base.
Conduct client interviews, assess housing applications, and refer clients to appropriate support services.
Manage property waitlists, allocations, and vacancies while ensuring compliance with tenancy agreements.
Assist with property inspections, tenancy visits, and the resolution of disputes or complaints.
Monitor and manage rent assessments, arrears, pay deductions, and debt collections.
Oversee property maintenance activities and ensure records and file notes are accurate and up to date.
Skills & Experience
To excel in this role, you'll bring:
Customer Service Expertise (face to face) : Proven ability to build rapport, listen actively, demonstrate empathy, and de-escalate challenging situations.
Administration Skills : Strong background in office administration, with the ability to quickly learn new systems and multitask across multiple applications.
Property Management Knowledge : Experience in property management is an advantage but not essential.
Work Management : Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Adaptability : Willingness to embrace new challenges and adapt to changing priorities.
Interpersonal Skills : Inclusive communication and interpersonal abilities, focusing on ethical and culturally sensitive interactions.
Attention to Detail : High levels of accuracy and fast, efficient keyboarding skills.
Team Player Attitude : Positive and flexible approach, ready to support different tasks to meet organisational needs.
Availability : Ability to work 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, and start with short notice.
